19-24.5.2025, Conservatorio di Lecce
From June 19 to 24, Marcello Corti will be in Ceglie Messapica, home to the satellite campus of the Conservatory of Lecce, to lead a special orchestral masterclass.
The project is designed for students of all instruments and all levels — from preparatory to professional — and aims to deepen their understanding of the subtle but essential dynamics of ensemble playing. Participants will work together to uncover the unspoken rules that make an orchestra function: how to sit and relate within a group, how communication flows from one music stand to another, and what role the conductor plays in shaping the ensemble’s identity.
Through daily rehearsals, discussions, and practical sessions, students will reflect on how the orchestra mirrors many of the dynamics found in organizational and human relationships — a reason why it is so often used as a model in business and leadership training.
This experience is also an opportunity to highlight the musical and human value of the Ceglie Messapica Conservatorio — a growing educational hub set in a territory full of cultural richness and potential.
